Vicente del Bosque: 'Xavi will leave Barcelona this summer'

Spain manager Vicente del Bosque confirms that Xavi is to leave Barcelona this summer and join Al-Arabi.

Barcelona midfielder Xavi is to leave the club this summer, Spain manager Vicente del Bosque has confirmed.

The 34-year-old, who is currently on international duty with La Roja in Brazil, has spent his entire career at the Camp Nou, winning three Champions League trophies, seven La Liga titles and four Spanish cups along the way.

Al-Arabi coach Dan Petrescu revealed earlier this week that a pre-contract had been agreed between Xavi and the Qatari club, but said that other teams had reportedly offered the Spaniard a deal.

However, national team coach Del Bosque is quoted by the Daily Star as saying: "Xavi has made his decision and he has confirmed to several people. He will leave Barcelona this summer and will be moving to Qatar. The transfer is certain."

Xavi has made 723 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions.
