Andres Iniesta likely to end career at Barcelona, claims father

Spain midfielder Andres Iniesta is likely to finish his career at Barcelona, according to the player's father Jose Antonio Iniesta.

Andres Iniesta's father has hinted that the Spain playmaker will end his career at Barcelona.

The 33-year-old is out of contract at Camp Nou next summer and has not yet committed his future to the Catalan giants.

With Juventus reportedly keen to snap him up next year, speculation has been rife over the midfielder's future, but Jose Antonio Iniesta believes that his son will not leave Barca.

Speaking to Spanish TV channel Cuatro, he said: "I know that we talk every day with my son and he's never going to say anything that's not true.

"At a professional level, Andres is never going to wear another shirt other than Barca's so that he doesn't have to compete against Barca.

"With the way he looks after himself, he could play an important role at Barca for another two or three years."

Iniesta has spent the last 21 years with Barca, making 632 appearances for the Blaugrana.
