Striker Stefan Kiessling earns new Bayer Leverkusen deal

Bayer Leverkusen extend the contract of striker Stefan Kiessling until 2018 and promise him another role within the club when he ends his playing career.

German striker Stefan Kiessling has put pen to paper on a new contract with Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

The 32-year-old has extended his previous deal by a year and Bayer are hoping that he will take up another role at the club when he retires.

"I'm really pleased that Leverkusen still have faith in me as a player and that they also believe in me beyond that," Kiessling told the club website.

"I will obviously do everything for this club, like I always have done, and set high targets. Of course my aim remains to win a title here."

This summer will mark 10 years since Kiessling joined Leverkusen from Nuremberg.
