Pep Guardiola "proud" of Bayern Munich players

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola is "proud" of his players despite their Champions League semi-final exit at the hands of Barcelona.

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has insisted that he is "proud" of his players, despite their Champions League exit this evening.

The Bundesliga champions ended a run of four straight defeats with a 3-2 triumph over Barcelona in the second leg at the Allianz Arena tonight, but it was not enough to overturn a 3-0 deficit from the first leg.

Guardiola was quick to congratulate his players and revealed that he will now "celebrate" winning the domestic title before beginning to look ahead to the 2015-16 season.

"Congratulations to my players. I'm proud of them," the former Barca boss told reporters.

"I now want to celebrate our Championship before planning for next season."

Bayern, who have lost two league games in a row, still have matches against Freiburg and Mainz 05 to go in the Bundesliga this season.
