Jose Castro: 'Monchi is happy at Sevilla'

Sevilla president Jose Castro is confident that sporting director Monchi will remain at the club "for many more years".

Sevilla president Jose Castro is confident that sporting director Monchi will remain at the club "for many more years".

The Spaniard is highly respected around Europe and is currently being courted by a number of top-level clubs.

It had been claimed that he had held a meeting with Bayern Munich on the subject of moving to Germany, but Castro has quelled such claims.

"I've read the news and it isn't true. Monchi has not been in touch with Bayern Munich. He is very much a Sevilla man is very happy with what he is doing here," Castro told Tele Sevilla.

"I think he will be with us for many more years, although I'm not a fortune-teller and I don't know what will happen in 10 days, one month or even a year.

"Monchi is a professional and I don't think he will leave because he knows that Sevilla needs him."

Barcelona are also said to be interested in the sporting director.
