Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes blames his side's inability to convert chances for their 2-0 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes has cursed his side's profligacy in front of goal following their 2-0 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen.

Late goals from Stefan Kiessling and Karim Bellarabi sealed victory for Robin Dutt's side, fuelling further talk of a crisis at the Allianz Arena.

The Bavarian club now trail leaders and reigning champions Borussia Dortmund by seven points, and could even find themselves in third should Borussia Monchengladbach beat FC Nurnberg tomorrow.

Heynckes was once again left to blame his team's failure to find the net after creating a host of chances at the BayArena.

"We were outstanding in the first half and had a lot of chances, which we failed to take," said the 66-year-old.

"That is the curse that is hanging over us at the moment and not taking your chances can always backfire on you, which is what happened today.

"It is a big disappointment for us all."

Bayern face Hoffenheim at the Allianz Arena next week.
