Kevin Volland has claimed that Hoffenheim will need to adopt a positive approach in Saturday's Bundesliga meeting with champions Bayern Munich.
Bayern kicked off the new season with a 5-0 triumph over Hamburger SV, while Hoffenheim head into the match on the back of a DFB-Pokal loss to 1860 Munich and a 2-1 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen in the league last weekend.
However, Volland believes that Markus Gisdol's side can surprise Bayern at the Rhein-Neckar Arena.
"We have to attack and be brave. That'll make it uncomfortable for them because they're not used to that, and that's definitely one of our strengths, but it's also risky," the 23-year-old told the Bundesliga website.
"They're so good they can take apart almost every other team in the world. We want to spring a surprise, but that's always really, really hard to do against Bayern. We need a perfect day."
Hoffenheim have failed to beat Bayern in 14 meetings since securing promotion to the Bundesliga in 2008.
