Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola: "We lost our discipline"

Pep Guardiola attributes Bayern Munich's defeat away at Borussia Monchengladbach to a loss of discipline.

Pep Guardiola has admitted that a loss of discipline was the major reason behind Bayern Munich's 3-1 defeat away at Borussia Monchengladbach yesterday afternoon.

The two teams went into the break at Borussia-Park level at 0-0, but second-half goals from Oscar Wendt, Lars Stindl and Fabian Johnson secured all three points for the hosts and rendered Franck Ribery's late strike for Bayern a consolation.

Speaking to the club's official website, Guardiola said: "We were very strong in the first half and created plenty of chances, but scored no goals. After the break it was very complicated, we lost possession too often.

"You can always concede a goal, but after that we lost our discipline. That wasn't good, we let them get at us on the break and that was the reason we lost. We mustn't neglect the core of our play, as we've seen in this match."

The result has seen Bayern's lead at the top of the table cut to five points.
