Bayer Leverkusen general manager Wolfgang Holzhauser has accused Bayern Munich boss Jupp Heynckes of trying to tap up German international Lars Bender.
Holzhauser revealed that he rejected an official approach from the Bavarian club last week and it was agreed that the matter would be kept private.
However, Heynckes last week told a press conference that he had sent a text message congratulating Bender following his goal for Germany against Denmark at Euro 2012, before stating: "Maybe something will come out of it."
Holzhauser admitted that he has been annoyed by the revelation and has now gone public with his frustration.
"I don't want any bother with Bayern, but I am annoyed and very bemused that Jupp Heynckes has indirectly brought the Bender issue up in public," he said.
"I am astonished that Jupp is suddenly able to write text messages."
Bender moved to Leverkusen from 1860 Munich in 2009.
