Half-Time Report: Ravel Morrison gives Queens Park Rangers half-time lead

Ravel Morrison's first-half free kick hands Queens Park Rangers a 1-0 lead over Birmingham City.

Ravel Morrison's first-half free kick has handed Queens Park Rangers a 1-0 lead over Birmingham City at half time in their Championship clash this afternoon.

Birmingham were the first to threaten when Nikola Zigic saw his right-footed shot from outside the box comfortably saved by Robert Green in the centre of goal.

Emyr Huws also had a go from distance early on, but the midfielder's effort was again stopped by Green with consummate ease.

It was the visitors who took the lead in the 14th minute when Morrison bent in a free kick with his right foot into the top corner of the goal.

City tried to respond through Huws, who sent in a stinging effort from outside of the box, leaving Green to get across and tip it away from his top corner.

QPR could have increased their lead midway through the half when Kevin Doyle found Armand Traore, but he sent his effort wide.
