Stephen Gleeson, Jacques Maghoma goals give Birmingham City victory over MK Dons

Goals from Stephen Gleeson and Jacques Maghoma earn Birmingham City a 2-0 win at MK Dons.

Birmingham City have beaten MK Dons 2-0 in the Championship after second-half goals from Stephen Gleeson and Jacques Maghoma.

After a ten-minute delay to kickoff due to a change of referee, Birmingham started strongly. Gleeson's shot was blocked in the eighth minute before David Cotterill shot wide four minutes later.

Robert Hall had two attempts in quick succession but both efforts missed the targets, before the match was delayed further due to injuries to Jordan Spence and Diego Poyet.

Once play resumed, Clayton Donaldson saw his shot blocked and Samir Carruthers missed the target at the other end in stoppage time.

Soon after the start of the second half, Gleeson scored against his former club when he directed the ball into the top-left corner.

MK Dons failed to get back into the match, with just a Darren Potter shot off target and a Poyet blocked shot to show for their second-half efforts.

Maghoma sealed the points for Birmingham in the 87th minute, beating David Martin after Donaldson's through ball.
