Jack Butland insists that he is not thinking about a move and only wants to be Birmingham's number one.

Jack Butland has insisted that his focus remains firmly on his career at Birmingham City next season.

The highly-rated shotstopper has claimed that he still aims to become the club's first choice next season.

Southampton had a £6m bid rejected for Butland and the 19-year-old's future depends entirely on whether the Blues decide to cash in. It has been suggested that England goalkeeper coach Dave Watson's move from Birmingham to Norwich City may influence Butland's decision, though the youngster has rejected that claim.

"It's all talk," Butland told the Birmingham Mail.

"My intention hasn't changed – and that's to try and be the number one at Birmingham. I don't see why that has altered."

"Dave is a massive part of where I am now," continued Butland, referring to Watson's exit.

"I want to thank him for what he has done and I wish him good luck."

Butland was a surprising call-up to England's Euro 2012 squad, replacing Norwich's John Ruddy, who missed out through injury.
