Alex Rae delighted with Blackpool's victory over Wigan Athletic

Alex Rae expresses his delight at Blackpool's win over Wigan Athletic in the Championship this afternoon.

Alex Rae has expressed his delight after seeing Blackpool beat Wigan Athletic 1-0 in the Championship this afternoon.

Thomas Ince scored the only goal of the game at Bloomfield Road to give them a crucial win in their push for promotion, with Rae pleased to see his side beat a team who were playing in the Premier League last season.

"I think it was a very good spectacle, we went about our business well and it's great to beat a team of Wigan's stature," he told the club's official website.

"A lot of these boys were playing in the Premier League last year. It was a very good match for everyone and we're very delighted with the three points.

"The boys put their bodies on the line every week, they always block tackles and put their heads in. There's cuts and bruises in there but that's what you need to do to try and get success."

Blackpool are fifth in the Championship table after today's victory.
