The goal came with 20 minutes to play after goalkeeper Matt Gilks could only parry Matt Davies's free kick into the path of Craig Bryson, who tucked away the rebound.
Nigel Clough's men next face Doncaster Rovers at home on Saturday, while Blackpool travel to Brighton.
