Barry Ferguson signs new Blackpool deal

Blackpool midfielder Barry Ferguson signs a new one-year contract with the Championship club.

Blackpool midfielder Barry Ferguson has admitted his 'delight' at signing a new one-year contract with the Championship club.

The 35-year-old, who had a loan spell with Fleetwood Town last season, had been expected to depart Bloomfield Road this summer.

However, the former Scotland international has ended speculation surrounding his future by agreeing a new deal.

"I'm delighted to have signed. I've signed a one-year deal and I will just take it year by year now," he told the club's official website.

Ferguson is expected to retire at the end of next season.
