Crystal Palace want permanent Kevin Phillips stay

Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish reveals that the club are keen to offer striker Kevin Phillips a permanent deal.

Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish has suggested that the club will offer striker Kevin Phillips a permanent contract.

The 39-year-old veteran, who spent the second half of last season on loan from Blackpool, scored the winning goal against Watford in last month's playoff final to send the Eagles into the Premier League.

"He's someone we feel could still do a job in the Premier League, if we can come to some agreement with him," Parish is quoted as saying by The Sun.

"Kevin is a super pro and we know he wouldn't make a call to stay if he wasn't going to give his all."

Phillips began his playing career with non-league Baldock Town in 1991.
