Neil Lennon hits out at "weak" Bolton Wanderers players

Bolton boss Neil Lennon claims that some of his players are 'mentally weak' after seeing them lose 1-0 to Ipswich.

Bolton Wanderers boss Neil Lennon has accused some of his players of having a "weak mentality" following their 1-0 defeat to Ipswich Town in the Championship.

The Trotters suffered a second loss in three games on Tuesday night as they were edged out at Portman Road.

While he admits that poor finishing in front of goal cost his side, Lennon believes that more of the club's senior players need to stand up and be counted.

"We should have been home and hosed by half time, but that is endemic of our season away from home," he told BBC Sport. "You can't miss gilt-edged chances like we did against a good side.

"The league table doesn't lie but a club like this shouldn't be where it is. Some of the senior players have a weak mentality but I can't do anything about that until the end of the season when we will still be hopefully in the Championship."

The result has kept Bolton in 16th place in the Championship table, 10 points clear of the drop zone.
