Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has revealed that Fabrice Muamba is continuing to improve and that he was able to walk in hospital today.
The Trotters midfielder is still in intensive care after suffering a cardiac arrest in their abandoned FA Cup tie with Tottenham Hotspur on March 17.
However the 23-year-old has shown improvement in his condition by taking his first steps since being rushed to the London Chest Hospital nearly three weeks ago.
"Well the good news is that Fabrice is getting better, which is fantastic news, it really is," said Coyle.
"He's got that big smile on his face which we love and he continues to improve. There's no doubt he's going in the right direction and long may that continue.
"I think it's fair to say the improvement has been great and he's chatting away and today he's managed to do some walking in the corridor of the unit that he's in and that's great. He's really going from strength to strength."
Muamba recently released a photograph on Twitter for the first time since the incident.
