Bolton Wanderers let two-goal lead slip in Bournemouth draw

Bolton Wanderers let a two-goal lead slip as they draw 2-2 against Bournemouth at the Reebok Stadium.

Bolton Wanderers let a two-goal lead slip in today's 2-2 draw against Bournemouth at the Reebok Stadium.

There was action early on in the match as Jay Spearing was able to release Liam Trotter on the left-hand side, but the on-loan midfielder's subsequent low cross flashed across the face of the Cherries goal.

Midway through the first half, Bolton took the lead when Mark Davies played a through-ball to Lee Chung-Yong, and the South Korean was able to fire a shot from the right-hand side channel into the top left corner of the net.

Just after the half-hour mark, the Trotters doubled their tally when Lucas Jutkiewicz was able to control a long ball from Zat Knight, before lashing an effort over Lee Camp.

The Cherries pulled a goal back almost immediately, Lewis Grabban unleashing a long-range shot which flew past Adam Bogdan.

Two minutes after the restart, Chris Eagles marauded down the right wing and fired into the side netting from a narrow angle, but Harry Arter countered with a low volley that flew wide of the Bolton far post.

Just before the hour mark, Eagles and Davies were able to break following a Bournemouth attack, but the latter was crowded out when about to take a shot.

The Cherries then equalised in the 66th minute thanks to Simon Francis's header from a difficult angle into the bottom right corner.

Two minutes later, the away side could have made it three, but Bogdan produced an acrobatic save to deny an instinctive effort from Yann Kermorgant.
