Bolton Wanderers striker Conor Wilkinson heads to Portsmouth on loan

Bolton Wanderers send Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Conor Wilkinson to Portsmouth on loan for the rest of the season.

League Two promotion hopefuls Portsmouth have signed striker Conor Wilkinson on loan for the rest of the season from Bolton Wanderers.

The 21-year-old heads to Fratton Park for his third loan stint of the season having already turned out for Barnsley and Newport County in 2015-16.

Wilkinson is available for any post-season matches should Pompey finish in the playoff spots, but he is unavailable for this weekend's Easter double-header against Notts County and AFC Wimbledon because he is on international duty with the Republic of Ireland Under-21s.

Wilkinson will wear the No.25 shirt for Portsmouth, who are sixth in League Two, five points behind the automatic promotion places.
