Harry Redknapp: 'Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe deserves to be Lord Mayor'

Harry Redknapp says that Eddie Howe deserves to be made Lord Mayor of Bournemouth after leading the club to the brink of the Premier League.

Harry Redknapp has said that Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe "deserves to be Lord Mayor" after he led the club to the brink of the Premier League.

Marc Pugh, Matt Ritchie and Callum Wilson scored to give Bournemouth a 3-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers, and their superior goal difference over Middlesbrough all but guarantees them a place in the top flight next season.

"This is the best team in the history of Bournemouth Football Club. These players here deserve the freedom of the city and Eddie Howe deserves to be the Lord Mayor or something," Redknapp told Sky Sports News.

"It's fantastic, thoroughly deserved. They've been amazing all year and the football they produced tonight they have produced all year.

"It's a pleasure to come and watch them."

Howe was recently named as Manager of the Decade at the Football League Awards.
