Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe makes five changes to his starting XI ahead of Sunday's Premier League derby with Southampton at the Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has made five changes to his starting XI ahead of Sunday's Premier League derby with Southampton at the Vitality Stadium.

Jermain Defoe, Junior Stanislas, Ryan Fraser, Lewis Cook and Adam Smith have been drafted into the Cherries lineup.

Stanislas had been been out since the end of October with a groin problem, but has resumed training and is deemed fit to start.

Defenders Brad Smith and Tyrone Mings will not be involved as they are still recovering from injuries.

Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino, meanwhile, has made six changes to the Saints following on from their midweek defeat to Manchester City.

Jeremy Pied replaces the injured Cedric Soares, while Steven Davies returns to captain the side, with Maya Yoshida dropping to the bench.

Mario Lemina also drops out of the XI, with James Ward-Prowse coming into midfield, and Dusan Tadic, Sofiane Boufal and Charlie Austin are restored to the starting lineup.

Bournemouth: Begovic; Smith, Francis, Ake, Daniels; L. Cook, Surman, Stanislas, Fraser; King; Defoe
Subs: Boruc, Cook, Gosling, Pugh, Ibe, Wilson, Afobe

Southampton: Forster; Pied, Van Dijk, Hoedt, Bertrand; Davis, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Boufal; Austin
