Brazil captain Thiago Silva has admitted that he is frustrated to have picked up a booking in his side's quarter-final win over Colombia that will see him miss the World Cup semi-final.
The incident occurred in the 64th minute when the defender impeded Colombia keeper David Ospina as he attempted to clear the ball downfield, and referee Carlos Velasco dished out the yellow card.
Silva feels that he only has himself to blame for missing his side's last-four showdown with Germany, but believes that fellow defenders Dante and Henrique can replace him in the lineup.
He told reporters: "The card makes me miss the [next] game, but Dante and Henrique are fully capable of playing well and replace me.
"It was silly as I was returning to defend, the goalie threw the ball in my front and I didn't have any way to leave. I don't even know if the [referee's] interpretation was correct."
Brazil take on Germany in their semi-final matchup next week.
