Mark Warburton praises Brentford resilience in Ipswich Town draw

Brentford boss Mark Warburton praises his side's toughness as they battle to earn a point in their Championship clash against Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

Brentford boss Mark Warburton has hailed his side's toughness to claim a point from their Championship clash against Ipswich Town.

Daryl Murphy put the Tractor Boys ahead in the ninth minute, but Warburton's men battled back through Jonathan Douglas.

Mick McCarthy's men put the Bees under pressure in the second half, but they displayed resilience at the back to earn a 1-1 draw at Portman Road.

Warburton told Sky Sports News: "We have been in the top six since November - something that speaks volumes for my players. I thought we looked good when we got the ball down but this league is all about tough challenges.

"This is a very tough place to come, they are a fantastic club with an excellent manager. We are not a big physical team but the players stood up to Ipswich. I have told my players they are just 10 games from the Premier League, the promised land.

"We are in the home stretch and that's how they have to look at it. When we do what we do well, we are more than a match for any team in this league."

Brentford are sixth in the Championship, four points off the pace in the race for automatic promotion.
