Half-Time Report: Brighton & Hove Albion holding Wolverhampton Wanderers to goalless draw

Brighton & Hove Albion are playing out a goalless draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers in a lively Championship clash at the Amex Stadium.

Brighton & Hove Albion are holding Wolverhampton Wanderers to a goalless draw in a lively Championship clash at the Amex Stadium this afternoon.

The hosts began brightly as Craig Mackail-Smith rose inside the Wolves area to meet a cross from the right wing two minutes in, but he headed into the arms of Tomasz Kuszczak.

Beram Kayal was next to threaten as he was released into the Wolves area, but Richard Stearman's tackle did just enough to snuff out the danger.

Chances kept coming for both sides in the early stages as Joao Teixeira dragged his effort wide and Bakary Sako had his rebounded shot cleared off the line.

The pendulum never truly swung the way of Wolves as Brighton continued to press, Mackail-Smith pouncing on a misplaced backpass on the quarter-hour mark but firing wide from close range.

Despite both teams pushing forward at every occasion and firing efforts at will, neither could break the deadlock come the half-time whistle.
