Half-Time Report: Glenn Murray brace gives Reading the lead

Glenn Murray's brace gives Reading a 2-1 advantage going into the break of their Championship match with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Glenn Murray's brace has given Reading a 2-1 lead going into half time of their Championship match with managerless Brighton & Hove Albion this afternoon.

Murray gave the away side the perfect start by poking the ball home inside the first minute after Hal Robson-Kanu had whipped in a cross from the left.

Simon Cox was then barged off the ball inside the penalty area for Reading but no spot kick was given.

David Stockdale was at full stretch to tip Jake Taylor's looping header away but the Brighton keeper could not stop Murray doubling Reading's advantage when his deflected header went into the net.

Brighton pulled a goal back when a long throw by Greg Halford was flicked on by Lewis Dunk and Jake Forster-Caskey reacted quickest to score.

Another Halford throw then saw Adrian Colunga smash against the post as Reading struggled to hold on to their lead just before the break.
