Half-Time Report: Chris Lines puts Bristol Rovers in control

An arrow-like opener from Chris Lines gives Bristol Rovers a 1-0 lead on the day and 2-0 aggregate advantage over Forest Green in the Conference playoff semi-final.

Bristol Rovers are well on their way to the Conference Premier playoff final as they lead Forest Green Rovers 1-0 at the midway point of their semi-final second leg against Forest Green Rovers.

Bristol are now 2-0 up on aggregate following a 1-0 win in the first leg earlier this week, but they were almost on level terms early on today when Jon Parkin squandered a third-minute chance at the Memorial Stadium.

Up the other end, Nathan Blissett fluffed his lines with a chance of his own before playing a key role in the opener midway through the first half.

The striker cleverly let Matty Taylor's low cross go past him and it rolled into the path of Chris Lines, who slammed into the top corner from 15 yards.

Bristol were fairly comfortable after breaking the deadlock and went close to a second soon after when Taylor was denied his second goal in two games by Steve Arnold.
