Burnley manager Sean Dyche admits that he is confused as to whether one of his side's disallowed goals should have stood during their 1-0 win over Watford.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has admitted that he was left confused as to whether a goal by Ashley Barnes should have stood during this afternoon's 1-0 win over Watford at Turf Moor.

The Clarets ultimately had to settle for a narrow victory over their 10-man opponents after Scott Arfield scored the only goal of the game on the stroke of half time, but they also saw two goals disallowed.

Barnes's strike was the closest of the two to being allowed to stand, but the officials ruled that he was offside in an incident which raised questions over active players and was further complicated by a Watford deflection.

"It is not easy to win games in the Premier League and we had a couple that were chalked off. They were delicate decisions," Dyche told reporters.

"I can't work it out. Our player goes to play Wood in. Barnes is half a foot offside. Their player plays it on their other player. Is he offside, is he not? Pick the bones out of that one. It was a confusing moment."

Burnley's victory sees them hold on to seventh place, level on points with Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal and just one point off the Champions League places.
