Burnley defender Michael Duff ready to defy critics once more

Burnley defender Michael Duff believes that his side can keep alive their battle to remain in the Premier League by defeating Hull City at the KC Stadium.

Burnley defender Michael Duff has revealed that he and his teammates are determined to defy their critics once more to retain their place in the Premier League.

The Clarets have to beat Hull City at the KC Stadium later today to avoid relegation back to the Championship after just one season in the top flight.

Duff has admitted that his side are upbeat about their chances against Steve Bruce's men as he believes that all the pressure is off them going into the contest.

He told the club's official website: "We're still positive. We've not been fancied all season, so nothing has really changed within the four walls of the dressing room. No one has thought we are ever going to get out of it at any point and even more so now, so we're probably under less pressure than we ever have been.

"There's pressure within the dressing room to win games and there has been all season, but we're still alive and kicking. It's going to be hard and we're under no illusions where we are or what we have to do.

"We're fully aware of what we need to do, but whilst there's the chance, there's still positivity. Everyone has written us off and hopefully we can prove a few more people wrong."

Duff is expected to play at the KC Stadium after having his red card against West Ham United rescinded earlier this week.
