Striker Gray, who was also subject to interest from Hull City and Bristol City, joined the Clarets in a deal believed to be around £6m.
However today's clash has come too soon for the 24-year-old, meaning that Lukas Jutkiewics and Rouwen Hennings lead the line for Sean Dyche's side.
