Team News: Andre Gray not selected to make Burnley debut against former club Brentford

Club-record Burnley signing Andre Gray will not make his debut against former club Brentford after only completing the transfer on Friday.

Club-record Burnley signing Andre Gray will not make his debut against former club Brentford after only completing the transfer on Friday.

Striker Gray, who was also subject to interest from Hull City and Bristol City, joined the Clarets in a deal believed to be around £6m.

However today's clash has come too soon for the 24-year-old, meaning that Lukas Jutkiewics and Rouwen Hennings lead the line for Sean Dyche's side.

Dean Marney and Ashley Barnes are long-term absentees after suffering cruciate knee ligament injuries last season.

Bees manager Marinus Dijkhuizen, meanwhile, has opted for Lasse Vibe to replace Gray up front.

Defender James Tarkowski will wear a protective mask after breaking his nose against Bristol City, but Jota, Nico Yennaris, Marcos Tebar, Josh McEachran, Andreas Bjelland and Scott Hogan all miss out through injury.

Burnley: Heaton; Mee, Duff, Keane, Darikwa; Kightly, Jones, Arfield, Boyd; Hennings, Jutkiewicz. Subs: Gilks, Ward, Taylor, Anderson, Vokes, Vossen, Sordell.

Brentford: Button; Bidwell, Dean, Hofmann, McCormack, Kerschbaumer, Judge, Diagouraga, Vibe, Gogia, Tarkowski. Subs: Bonham, Colin, O'Connel, Barbet, Udumaga, Clarke, Senior.
