Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink thrilled by Burton Albion victory

Burton Albion boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink hails the effort of his team after seeing them earn a 3-1 win at Wycombe Wanderers in his first game in charge.

New Burton Albion manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has praised the performance of his team after they earned a 3-1 win at Wycombe Wanderers in his first game in charge.

The Brewers kept up their promotion push in League Two on Monday night with a convincing victory at Adams Park.

Hasselbaink, who joined the club last week, now hopes that Burton can continue in the same vein for the remainder of the season.

"It's a great way to start," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "I'm very happy with the start and I'm very happy with the performance.

"Let's not just look at the result; look at the performance - it was very good. I'm very happy with the determination and the commitment and it's very important to take that forward - you saw today that they are willing."

Burton are back in action on Saturday when they host Luton Town in the league.
