League Two roundup: Newport County hold on after a late Northampton Town fightback

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's League Two action as Newport County hold on to three points after a late Northampton Town fightback.

Newport County won a five-goal thriller against Northampton Town in League Two this afternoon, but had to hold on to win after a late comeback by the visitors.

Burton Albion comfortably beat York City 2-0 thanks to goals from Lucas Akins and John Mousinho.

A late James Gray goal gave Accrington Stanley victory over AFC Wimbledon, while a dominant away display from Bury saw them breeze past struggling Carlisle United, with all three goals coming in the second half.

League Two's second five-goal game came at Dagenham & Redbridge as Cambridge United got the away victory.

Exeter City shared a point with Oxford United after Callum O'Dowd's goal cancelled out a fourth-minute striker form Graham Cummins, while an early Mark Cullen goal was enough to see Luton Town beat Cheltenham Town 1-0.

Hartlepool United and Tranmere Rovers played out the day's only goalless game, but there were three in Lancashire where Morecambe edged out Plymouth Argyle 2-1.

Southend United beat Portsmouth 2-0 with second-half goals coming from Barry Corr and substitute Shaquile Coulthirst, and Darius Charles was quicker out of the blocks Stevenage narrowly bested Shrewsbury Town 1-0.

Finally, Wycombe Wanderers came from a goal down to beat Mansfield Town 2-1, thanks to a Paul Hayes penalty and Peter Murphy's 77th-minute winner.
