Cardiff City manager Russell Slade has given his approval for head coach Paul Trollope to join Wales' coaching staff.
The 43-year-old is currently locked in talks with the Welsh FA over joining the Dragons on a part-time basis.
Trollope will replace Kit Symons in the role as assistant, after the Fulham boss stepped down from his position last month to concentrate solely on club duties.
Speaking after Cardiff's 2-2 draw at Shrewsbury Town, Slade told BBC Sport: "I'm proud of the fact he's got that opportunity. "There is dialogue now between both bodies. If things get sorted out he'll take it and it will be great for the football club."
Trollope has plenty of coaching experience following previous spells at Birmingham City and Norwich City, while also taking charge of Bristol Rovers prior to linking up with the Bluebirds.
