Team News: Jiri Skalak replaces Anthony Knockaert for Brighton & Hove Albion

Jiri Skalak replaces Anthony Knockaert for Brighton's trip to Cardiff City.

Jiri Skalak has come in for Anthony Knockaert for Brighton & Hove Albion's trip to Cardiff City this afternoon.

Chris Hughton makes just the one change from the side that beat Fulham at the Amex last time out as the Seagulls look to replace Newcastle United at the top of the Championship table.

Knockaert instead takes a place on the bench this afternoon after a couple of out-of-sorts performances following the death of his father a few weeks ago.

Glenn Murray and Sam Baldock, who claimed a goal apiece against the Cottagers, continue their partnership up front, with Skalak joining Dale Stephens, Steve Sidwell and Jamie Murphy in the middle of the park.

For the hosts, Neil Warnock makes three changes from the XI that started the defeat at Aston Villa as he looks to lift the side out of the relegation zone.

Frederic Gounongbe comes in to partner Junior Hoilett up front with Rickie Lambert ruled out through injury, while Kadeem Harris is preferred to Anthony Pilkington in the midfield.

Meanwhile, Matthew Connolly earns a recall at right-back after first-choice Lee Peltier saw red against the Villans last time out.

Cardiff City: Amos; Connolly, Bennett, Morrison, Bamba; Harris, Gunnarsson, Whittingham, Ralls; Gounongbe, Hoilett

Brighton & Hove Albion: Stockdale; Bruno, Duffy, Dunk, Bong; Skalak, Stephens, Sidwell, Murphy; Murray, Baldock
