Scott Brown insists that Celtic were the better team during Wednesday's goalless draw with Benfica in the Champions League.

Scott Brown has insisted that Celtic were the better team following Wednesday's 0-0 draw with Benfica in the Champions League.

The Bhoys controlled much of the match in front of a typically-raucous European crowd at Parkhead but were unable to crack the defence of their Portuguese opponents.

"I think overall we were the better team," the Celtic captain told Sky Sports News. "We didn't create as many chances as we'd like but I think we played really well."

In Wednesday's other Group G match, Barcelona had to come from behind to beat Spartak Moscow 3-2 at the Camp Nou.
