Celtic boss Neil Lennon says that he is proud of his players following their 3-0 win over Rangers.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon admitted that he was proud of his players following their 3-0 win over Rangers in Sunday's Old Firm derby.

Charlie Mulgrew, Kris Commons and Gary Hooper were all on the scoresheet at Parkhead as the SPL champions opened up a 21-point gap on their rivals.

"I am very proud of the team, I am very proud of the way they played and passed it, three great goals," Lennon told Sky Sports News.

"We played better than them today and proved to be the champions. It's just been a good day for the club and the supporters."

Lennon went on to praise both groups of supporters for the good-natured spirit in the stands during the match.

"I've got to say both sets of supporters today were fantastic," he added. "There was a lot of humour going around and that's what we want to see, we don't want to see the nastiness.

"Both sets of supporters were a credit to their clubs today."

The Bhoys play their penultimate home game of the season on Thursday when they entertain St Johnstone.
