Neil Lennon targets unbeaten season

Celtic boss Neil Lennon says that his players are motivated to remain unbeaten for their entire Scottish Premiership campaign this season.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has revealed that his players are motivated to remain unbeaten for their entire Scottish Premiership campaign this season.

The Bhoys extended their undefeated streak to 26 matches with a 2-0 victory away to Hearts, meaning that the Glasgow giants sit within 12 games of becoming the first Scottish club to achieve the feat since the late 19th century.

"It may be a step too far but it's something that is really motivating the players and ourselves to try to achieve," he told Sky Sports News.

"That's 26 now, and now we look forward. There is plenty to play for still and that's what is motivating us all.

"It's fantastic consistency and we are going to get tested again on Tuesday at Aberdeen. That's a great game to go into and we will look forward to that on top of another productive day."

Celtic, who managed a 33-game unbeaten run back in 2004 before losing to Aberdeen, face the Dons at Pittodrie on Tuesday.
