Adam Matthews admits that he wants to establish himself in the Celtic team next season.

Celtic defender Adam Matthews has admitted that he wants to nail down the right-back spot for the Scottish champions next season.

The 20-year-old shared defensive duties with Cha Du-Ri and Mark Wilson last season. However, with the pair having departed, Matthews is eyeing a regular spot in the team.

"I feel like I established myself in the squad last year so hopefully I can do it again this season. Last year the boys made me feel very welcome straight away," he told reporters.

Matthews has travelled with Celtic as they begin their pre-season tour of Germany.
