Hibernian have rejected a second Celtic bid for Scotland international midfielder John McGinn, according to a report.

Celtic have reportedly failed with their second attempt to poach Scotland international midfielder John McGinn from Hibernian.

The Hoops are believed to have previously fallen short with a £1.5m bid, which is half of what their Scottish Premiership rivals are holding out for.

McGinn remains a target for Celtic but, according to Sky Sports News, their midfield target is still out of reach as Hibs are not willing to offload on the cheap, despite the Glaswegian being out of contract next summer.

Hibernian included McGinn in their side for the 2-0 friendly loss to Blackburn Rovers two days ago, featuring for just over an hour at Easter Road.

The former St Mirren product was used in both of Scotland's summer international friendlies, taking him to nine senior caps.
