It remains all square after 45 minutes of scrappy football at The Valley, but French striker Yann Kermorgant sees red for a kick on Greg Halford.

Charlton Athletic and Nottingham Forest have been unable to break the deadlock after 45 minutes at The Valley.

It was a scrappy start to the game, with neither team really threatening to score.

Midweek hat-trick hero Radoslaw Majewski fizzed an effort just over the bar after Chris Solly had only half-cleared the ball.

A dull game sprung into life eight minutes before the break when Yann Kermorgant was given his marching orders.

The assistant referee was the one who made the call, ruling that the Frenchman kicked out at Forest full-back Greg Halford.

That was the only real action of the first half, which ended goalless.
