Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand has admitted that he is hoping to take advantage of his first-team opportunity in the FA Cup this weekend.

The England Under-21 international is expected to start for the Blues in Sunday's quarter-final tie against Leicester City after impressing in the last round against Birmingham City.

"I was pleased with my performances in the Birmingham games, and hopefully I will get the opportunity against Leicester on Sunday to show what I can do again," Bertrand told the club's official website.

"I've noticed in the last couple of games, people said to me that I did well, but, in myself, I thought there were a couple of things I needed to brush up on.

"That all comes if I'm playing regularly. I just have to deal with the situation and try to keep sharp for when I'm called upon."

Bertrand has spent most of hhis professional career out on loan after signing with Chelsea in 2006.
