Rafael Benitez says that it is "important" for Chelsea to have more than one option in attack.

Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez has said that he is "pleased" to have a choice between Fernando Torres and Demba Ba in attack.

Torres has been ever-present as the lone striker for the Blues this season, but Ba's arrival from Newcastle United has provided the Spanish international with competition.

Benitez, speaking ahead of tomorrow's Capital One Cup semi-final first-leg clash against Swansea City, said that it is important to have more than one option available.

"It's good for me because before I didn't have to think about that," said Benitez. "It will be difficult, but I'm pleased to be in this position.

"As a manager, you have to take responsibility and choose a player. Before it was about Fernando and keeping him fit.

"It's always important for a top side to have options, especially when you play a game every three days."

Ba scored twice on his debut for the Blues in their FA Cup victory over Southampton.
