Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez says that he had to change his team for their clash with Queens Park Rangers as his players were tired.

Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez has defended his decision to rotate his players for his side's clash with Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Ashley Cole, Ramires, Juan Mata and Eden Hazard all were left on the bench, as the Blues went down 1-0 to their London rivals at Stamford Bridge.

"We were tired and weren't precise," he told reporters. "We made a mistake and gave them their chance.

"I don't regret the changes because we can't carry on with the same players in every game.

"If you're playing a team at the bottom of the table at home, you have to trust your players and I trust them."

The defeat leaves Chelsea in fourth place in the league table.
