Chelsea 'extremely disappointed' with FA's decision to ban Diego Costa

Chelsea say that they are "extremely disappointed" with the Football Association's decision to ban Diego Costa for three matches.

Chelsea have expressed their disappointment at the Football Association's decision to suspend Diego Costa for three matches for violent conduct.

The Spaniard was handed the ban for his part in a scuffle with Arsenal defenders Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel Paulista during the Blues' 2-0 win over the Gunners.

However, the Blues hierarchy were left "fuming" when they heard that Paulista - who was sent off in the wake of the incident - successfully appealed against the same penalty, according to the Daily Star.

"We are extremely disappointed with the FA Regulatory Commission's decision to suspend Diego Costa. We will await their written reasons before commenting further," said the club in a statement.

Chelsea are said to be considering further action, including a potential demand for arbitration or a motion to take the matter to court.
