The FA have charged Chelsea defender Ashley Cole for recent comments that he made on the social networking site Twitter.
Cole reacted angrily on Friday afternoon after a report from the FA into the John Terry racism case with Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand had suggested that Cole's evidence had been "evolved" to support his Chelsea teammate.
He quickly issued an apology for his comments, insisting that he acted in the "heat of the moment".
Nevertheless, England's governing body have opted to charge the 31-year-old with misconduct.
He has until 4pm on Thursday to respond.
