Forward Olivier Giroud has suggested that he is "confident" that one of Chelsea's rivals will falter in the race for a spot in next season's Champions League.
Chelsea realistically need to win both of their remaining matches to maintain hope of claiming a top-four place, while Liverpool must fail to beat Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur must lose to either Newcastle United or Leicester City.
However, Giroud feels that he can become the club's "lucky charm" after playing a key role in Chelsea putting together five successive victories in all competitions.
The 31-year-old is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "I hope I can be the lucky charm for the Champions League race in the final sprint.
"We don't have this situation in our hands, but I have experience about these kind of end of season situations. We need to give everything and wait for the other results. I'm confident because if we play with that kind of mentality we can have nice things."
Chelsea will move level on points with Liverpool with victory over Huddersfield Town on Wednesday night.
