Jurgen Klopp wary of "world-class" Chelsea striker Diego Costa

Jurgen Klopp warns his Liverpool defenders that they will be up against "a real warrior" in Diego Costa on Friday when taking on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has described Chelsea striker Diego Costa as "world class" ahead of his side's trip to Stamford Bridge on Friday evening.

The Spain international has made an impressive start to the campaign by netting four goals in his first four Premier League games, including a brace against Swansea City last time out.

Liverpool will travel to West London in confident spirits themselves, having brushed aside champions Leicester City 4-1 at Anfield to make it two wins and a draw so far this term, but Klopp admits that his side have a task on their hands to keep Costa quiet in front of goal.

Asked to sum up the controversial forward, the Reds boss told reporters: "[He's] world class. If other supporters love you it's not a good sign. He is a real warrior on the pitch.

"He uses his body all the time - that is his quality - and he was nearly unstoppable against Swansea. He could have been the man of the match. He is strong, no doubt."

Costa, a £32m signing from Atletico Madrid in July 2014, has scored his four league goals this season from a total of 14 shots.
