Jens Lehmann expects Chelsea to fail in bid to retain Premier League title

Jens Lehmann believes that Jose Mourinho is not "capable" of guiding Chelsea to the Premier League title this season as they are already 11 points off the top.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has claimed that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will need to do something "really special" in order to guide his team to the Premier League title this season.

The Blues won the league by eight points in the 2014-15 campaign, but they are already 11 points adrift of leaders Manchester City this season.

"[Mourinho] probably wants to show people that, even with a bad start, he can become a champion, which would be special again, but we will see," Lehmann told Omnisport.

"I doubt that because they are already 11 or 12 points behind [City], so he needs to pull out something really special to get that right again. I don't know whether he is capable of doing that."

Chelsea will take on Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
