Jose Mourinho cools title talk

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho plays down the prospect of the Blues winning the Premier League after they moved top of the table today.

Jose Mourinho has moved to play down Chelsea's chances of winning the Premier League title after the Blues moved top of the standings with a 3-0 win over Newcastle United.

Eden Hazard fired a hat-trick as the West Londoners coasted to victory over the Magpies and ascended to the summit of the table in the process.

However, the Portuguese insists that his primary conern is consolidating his team's grasp on a Champions League qualification place amid stiff competition from elsewhere.

He told reporters: "I know today we are top of the league but I look to fifth place. I look to Tottenham v Everton and Manchester United v Fulham tomorrow and I want to be far from fifth.

"When we are far from fifth and have a Champions League position under control, then it will be time to look at Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool and see where they are and see the distances.

"From that point, we can start thinking about other things."

Chelsea's next outing is a visit to the Hawthorns for a clash with West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday.
