Jose Mourinho says that Romelu Lukaku can challenge Fernando Torres for the striker's role at Chelsea.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that Romelu Lukaku is good enough to boot Fernando Torres out of the team.

The Belgium international, who scored during the Blues' 4-1 victory against a Malaysia XI yesterday, spent last season on loan at West Bromwich Albion.

"Of course Lukaku can challenge Torres," the Daily Star quotes Mourinho as saying. "He is learning to play the way I want."

Lukaku previously claimed that he has no intention of leaving Stamford Bridge this summer on another loan move.
